Not sure, from your diagnosis it sounds cpu related, that doesnt specifically mean that its your hardware but could potentially also be how vray interacts with it. I have been using the preset on the converter that says 'remove legacy objects'. They look like they are mental ray attributes and shaders. All the model objects come through just fine. When I merge something in that I created originally back when I was using Mental Ray, the scene converter pops up saying those items cant be loaded. Something else that may be worth mentioning, not sure if this has anything to do with it or not.

I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling vray. This is the reason I spent 3k on a computer so I wouldn't have to deal with problems anymore. I can open high poly models and scenes with no problems as well.just the rendering end. I can poly model all day long with no problems. I am definitely going to contact Chaos Group. The only vray log that I found on my computer, named 'vraylog.txt' didn't really have much in it. I am running my scenes and associated files on an external usb drive. I just built this system a few months ago and have been happy with it. I am also basically using default render settings.

I am using default materials out of Vray's asset library that installs with Vray. I have 2 different files (of 2 different buildings) and they both crash. Beginning to wish I would have gone with twinmotion instead. I am lucky if I can get even one render to go through without crashing.

Has anyone here experienced problems when trying to render with Vray 5 and Max 2021? This seems to crash all over the place.
