symantec endpoint protection disable daily scan

Is there a way to disable the schedule scan on the backup server alone, without affecting other computers on the network, and also to create a custom scan that would scan only folders as specified and not the whole of backup folders? Since we have other computers getting scanned every day, this scan which runs on the backup server is a redundant scan and hence we are planning to avoid this.

Our problem is that the scan on this backup server runs for more than 25 hours before getting completed, becuase of the large data from various computers, and hence slowing the performance of the backup server.

We have scheduled a scan to run at 12:10 AM Every day. We have Symantec EndPoint Protection Clients installed on all the machines in our network, out of which one computer acts as a backup server to backup data from various machines. Before we go to the problem statement I would like to thank you all for any effort you would put on this with much gratitude. Am posting my first message in this forum expecting to get a solution for my problem.
